The Ekiti State female volleyball team arrived in Umuahia, Abia State, today, ready to compete in the second phase of the 2025 National Volleyball League. Fresh off a commendable second place finish in the first phase of Division 1, the team is determined to secure promotion and elevate Ekiti’s standing in Nigerian volleyball.
Head Coach Soji Farotimi expressed optimism about the team’s prospects, highlighting their focus and preparation for the upcoming matches. “We’ve arrived in Umuahia with high spirits and a clear goal to fight for promotion. The team is ready to make Ekiti proud,” Farotimi stated.
He reiterated his gratitude to Governor Biodun Oyebanji for his steadfast support in promoting sports in the state and commended Dr. (Mrs.) Olusola Osetoba, the Technical Advisor on Sports Development, for her outstanding leadership.
Having landed in Abia State, the team is now settling in and gearing up for the intense competition ahead. With the backing of their fans and the state government, the Ekiti female volleyball team is poised to deliver a strong performance in this decisive phase of the league.
