Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, will buzz with excitement on Thursday, August 14, 2025, as the 5th edition of the annual basketball showpiece, Showtyme Summer Slam, tips off with nine teams vying for glory.
Speaking with Ijoba Sports News, the convener of the event, Shoola Durojaiye, assured that preparations are in top gear and all participating teams are primed to thrill fans with high-quality basketball action.
“We have put everything in place for the 5th edition of Showtyme Summer Slam, and all the teams are ready for the event. They are coming to the court with top performance and energy,” Durojaiye said.
“Like we always do, this edition will be handled professionally. All participating teams are experienced and competitive, and we are expecting sports stakeholders, fans, and the media to witness this exciting basketball showcase.”

The nine participating teams are: Liberty Spears, Rising Stars, Showtyme Angels, Trust The Process Hoops, Showtyme Hoopers, Ollysan, U.I. All Stars, Yellow Tigers, and Polytechnic All Stars.
The tournament will run from Thursday, August 14 to Friday, August 15, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. daily at the Basketball Court, Adamasingba Stadium, Ibadan.
