Bendel Insurance striker, Kayode Oke, has praised his teammates following their hard-fought 1-0 win over Niger Tornadoes on Saturday at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City, in Matchday 4 of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
Speaking with Ijoba Sports News after the game, Oke described the result as a perfect way for the team to bounce back to winning ways.
“Today’s win is the best way for us to get back on track. It was a hard-fought victory, and we must maintain this momentum. This is our first win of the season after four matches, and we just need to remain focused and approach the next games with a winning spirit,” he said.
Oke, who was substituted in the 80th minute, commended the resilience of his teammates and assured fans of better results in upcoming matches.
Bendel Insurance snatched the win late on through Israel Emmanuel’s 93rd-minute strike, securing their first three points of the season after two draws and one defeat.
The Benin Arsenals will next travel to Aba to face Enyimba on Sunday, September 21, in Matchday 5.
