Premier FC emerged victorious in the 2025 Ewi’s Cup, defeating COPDEM FC in a dramatic penalty shootout to claim the coveted title.
The week-long football competition, organized by the Ado Local Football Council as part of the annual Udiroko Festival celebrations, culminated in an electrifying final at Christ School, Ado Ekiti.
The final match saw Premier FC and COPDEM FC battle fiercely, ending in a 1-1 draw after regular time. With tensions high, Premier FC showcased their composure, securing a 4-2 victory in the penalty shootout to lift the trophy.
The event was graced by distinguished guests, including the Ekiti State Football Association Chairman Are Olu Oloworemo, and other prominent sports stakeholders.
Prince Deji Aladesiun, Chairman of the Ado Local Football Council, expressed gratitude to Oba Rufus Aladesanmi III and his council for their unwavering support. He also commended the participating teams and the broader football community for their dedication. “We are immensely proud of the passion and talent displayed throughout this tournament,” Prince Aladesiun said. “The Ado Local Football Council remains committed to fostering football development and making future editions of the Ewi’s Cup even more impactful.”
The Ewi’s Cup continues to be a cornerstone of the Udiroko Festival, uniting the people of Ado through sport and celebrating Ado Ekiti’s rich cultural heritage.
