The Executive Chairman of the Kwara State Sports Commission, Mallam Bolakale Mogaji, has congratulated Kwara-born para badminton star, Eniola Mariam Bolaji, for securing a place in the final of the 2025 British & Irish Para Badminton International in Cardiff, Wales.
Eniola, a Paralympic bronze medalist and Nigeria’s standout athlete in the SL3 category, was in dominant form as she crushed Australia’s Celine Vinot in straight sets (21-4, 21-8) during the semifinal match. The victory sets her up for a mouthwatering final showdown against the world number one, Indonesia’s Syakuroh Qonitah.
Mallam Mogaji, in a statement issued on Thursday, praised Eniola’s consistency, resilience, and global impact, describing her as “a true ambassador of Kwara State and a shining symbol of what hard work and belief can achieve.”
“We are extremely proud of Eniola Mariam Bolaji. Her journey is an inspiration to every young athlete in Kwara and across Nigeria. On behalf of the entire sports community and the government of Kwara State, we congratulate her on reaching the final and wish her all the best. We believe she can go all the way and win it,” Mallam Mogaji stated.
Fresh from her recent win at the Abia Para Badminton Championship, Eniola has had a remarkable year, with victories at the Spanish Para Badminton International I & II and the Egypt International Para Badminton Championship, making the Cardiff event her fourth title chase of 2025.
Born and raised in Ilorin, Eniola continues to fly the flag of Kwara high, breaking barriers and redefining excellence in para sports.
As she heads into the final, hopes are high across Kwara and Nigeria that their champion will once again stand tall on the podium—this time, as the British & Irish International champion.
