Germany international Jamal Musiala has spoken out for the first time since sustaining a serious injury during Bayern Munich’s Club World Cup clash against Paris Saint-Germain.
In a video posted on Instagram, Musiala expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support he’s received:
“I wanted to say thanks for all the love and support. It’s nice to see how the football world comes together in times like this. I’ve really appreciated it,” he said.
He confirmed that his surgery was successful and clarified that there was no ill intent behind the incident:
“The surgery went really well, I’m in good care, and I wanted to say there’s no one to blame for this. I think situations like this happen and now I’m just going to use the next period of time to build up my strength and positivity again.”
According to Bayern Munich, Musiala is expected to be out of action for the next few months as he begins his recovery process.
