The Ekiti State Football League Committee has officially announced that the 2025 season of the state football league will kick off on Friday, July 11, in an abridged format.
The announcement was made on Friday afternoon following a strategic meeting of the committee, where key plans and operational matters were discussed.
In a statement, the Chairman of the League Committee, Comrade Soji Farotimi, expressed appreciation to the Ekiti State Football Association for the opportunity to organize the league. He also confirmed that the FA has provided all necessary logistics to ensure a smooth commencement of the season.
A total of 36 teams have been registered to participate in the league, with the teams divided into eight groups. The matches will be played across three selected centres: Ifaki-Ekiti, Ikere-Ekiti, and Ado-Ekiti.
Group A features Jaydyn FC, Otunba Kolawole FC, Newball Warriors FC, Crankshaft FC, and the ABUAD Staff Team.
Group B includes Fuoye Dazzlers, Eksu Galacticos, Shalom FC, Perfect Touch FC, and Eksuth FC.
The opening fixtures for the league will take place at the Federal Polytechnic Sports Complex, Ado-Ekiti with Group A and B teams respectively.
