Niger Tornadoes will be without their defensive midfielder, Victor Okoro, for their Matchday 28 away fixture against Rivers United this Sunday.
The Enugu-born midfielder sustained a knock injury in Tornadoes’ 1-0 home defeat to Enyimba FC last weekend and will not be available for selection as the team travels to Port Harcourt for the tough encounter at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium.
Okoro, who netted his first league goal of the season in Tornadoes’ 2-0 away victory over Lobi Stars two weeks ago, has been a key figure for the Minna-based club this season. His absence will be a big miss, given that he has only missed three out of 27 league games so far.
The hard-tackling midfielder is expected to recover in time for next weekend’s clash against Nasarawa United, as Tornadoes continue their back-to-back away trips.
