Newcastle United have confirmed that rising star Lewis Hall will miss the rest of the season due to a foot injury.
The 20-year-old will also be sidelined for the Carabao Cup final on March 16, having already missed Newcastle’s FA Cup defeat to Brighton on Sunday.
After consulting a specialist, it was determined that Hall requires surgery to address the injury.
In a statement on Wednesday morning, Newcastle confirmed the news, saying:
“Lewis Hall will miss the remainder of the 2024-25 season after sustaining an injury to a bone in his foot. Following a scan and consultation with a specialist, he will undergo surgery before beginning rehabilitation with the club’s medical team. Wishing you all the best for your surgery and recovery, Lewis.”
Hall’s absence is a significant setback for Newcastle ahead of their trip to Wembley, especially with Anthony Gordon also ruled out due to suspension.

Gordon was shown a straight red card for pushing Brighton’s Jan Paul van Hecke in the back of the head on Sunday, and Newcastle have opted not to appeal the decision.
As a result, Eddie Howe will be without his first-choice left-side combination for the final, with Tino Livramento and Harvey Barnes expected to step in against Liverpool. They will face the tough task of containing Mo Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold as Newcastle chase their first domestic trophy since 1955.
Hall has enjoyed a breakthrough season at Newcastle after limited game time last year, establishing himself as a key player under Howe. The left-back has made 34 appearances across all competitions, registering five assists.
His impressive performances also earned him his first two senior England caps in November, and he was expected to be included in Thomas Tuchel’s first Three Lions squad next week. However, his injury means he will miss out, with Arsenal’s Myles Lewis-Skelly now in contention for a call-up ahead of the World Cup qualifiers against Albania and Latvia.
